Joint Replacement & Reconstruction Surgery
Your Guides Through the Surgery Process
When conservative treatments like medication and physical therapy have failed, it’s time to finally consider joint replacement surgery as a treatment for your joint pain. Joint pain is a common problem for people worldwide. In many cases, the pain is temporary or can be adequately managed with nonsurgical treatments. However, joint pain typically worsens as people get older, and eventually, surgery will be necessary.
The two main surgical options for joint pain are joint replacement and joint reconstruction. A joint reconstruction surgery is generally recommended when only a portion of the joint or tissue is damaged and can be easily removed or repaired. For patients with more severe cases, total joint replacement may be the best option.
We Offer Minimally Invasive Procedures
The less strain your body goes through during surgery, the easier it will be for you to recover. Minimally invasive surgeries are an innovative approach to operations that use smaller incisions than traditional open surgery. This is accomplished by using state-of-the-art technology that allows our surgeons to observe the surgical area through small cameras that can be inserted through a small incision, rather than making large cuts to view the entire area. These cameras are equipped with small tools that can remove tissue and bone, and assist with much of the manual work.
Operations offered at Methodist Orthopaedic Surgical Associates include:
- Minimally Invasive Joint Replacement
- Computer Assisted Hip & Knee Joint Replacement
- Total Hip Replacement
- Total Knee Replacement
- Unicondylar (Unicompartmental) Knee Replacement
- Revision Knee Replacement
- Revision Hip Replacement
