Sports Medicine Can Get You Back In The Game

If you are an active individual experiencing pain or discomfort from sports or other physical activities, a consultation with a sports medicine physician may be right for you. Sports medicine physicians focus on treating musculoskeletal injuries, as well as medical, nutritional and training issues in active individuals of all ages.

Although often confused with orthopedic surgeons, physical therapists, or athletic trainers, sports medicine physicians have completed specialty fellowship training after residency training in a primary field, such as family medicine or emergency medicine. This training gives sports medicine physicians a unique perspective in how to manage and treat injuries non-surgically with a broad-based, comprehensive approach.
