Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment
State of Texas Overview
Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has received federal approval of an 1115 Waiver that allows the state to expand Medicaid managed care while preserving hospital funding, provides incentive payments for health care improvements and directs more funding to hospitals that serve large numbers of uninsured patients.
As a part of the 1115 Waiver, Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment (DSRIP) programs have been implemented statewide to transform the way that healthcare is delivered, with a focus on low income and uninsured patient populations throughout the state.
As a participating DSRIP provider since 2011, Methodist Health System has implemented several innovative programs targeting our service areas in North Texas, particularly our high risk patient populations with chronic illnesses. Through program activities like Emergency Department patient navigation and integrated chronic disease education, Methodist Health System has been able to meet the needs of this growing patient population while driving improvements in patient care.
