The General Meeting programs include informative health care information and history of the auxiliary and Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Also, we educate our members about the programs provided by Methodist Dallas to enhance the lives of the people of the community, such as the Oak Cliff’s Works MDMC Patient Care Technician’s program, the training nurses receive in the SANE program. These programs keep us informed about how our involvement with the Methodist Dallas Auxiliary makes a difference in the lives of others. In addition we take time for luncheons, entertainment and fun! Membership in the Auxiliary only requires a caring heart!

Methodist Charlton Medical Center Auxiliary

The Methodist Charlton Medical Center Auxiliary is a group of concerned citizens and employees who have come together to raise awareness for the hospital. The objective of the Auxiliary is to stimulate the interest of people in the spirit of serving, with compassion, integrity, and respect. Each month, members gather for a general meeting which includes a guest speaker, information on Auxiliary events, and a chance to socialize with others.

Auxiliary members participate in various capacities such as staffing hospital events, working on committees, and serving in leadership roles. Any person 14 years old and above is welcome to become an Auxiliary member. General meetings are held the second Tuesday of the month from 12:30 to 2 p.m., except for summer breaks.

Formed in August 2010, the Methodist Charlton Auxiliary exceeded its fundraising goals for its first fiscal year, raising $5,000. Its gift-basket drawing, Tour of Tables, and holiday bazaar have brought financial and moral support to the hospital that Auxiliary President Marlies Peregory says has "always been so good about giving back to the community."

She urges potential volunteers to remember that every contribution helps. "If it's baking three dozen cookies and raising $15, well that $15 can cover an immunization," she says. "It can go toward somebody's mammogram. It can help cover someone's ER visit. It takes a lot of 'little' to get 'big.'"

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center Auxiliary

Thanks to the Methodist Mansfield Auxiliary the hospital is able to bring even more enhanced care to the community. The auxilians not only volunteer their time in the hospital, but their book fairs, accessory sales, and the annual Holly Days event garner an average of $30,000 a year for the hospital.

Most recently the Auxiliary committed $150,000 over five years toward the $9.1 million Women's Pavilion expansion. The donation also includes a naming opportunity, so the department's waiting room will bear the group's name.

"A lot of the auxilians are longtime citizens of Mansfield, so this is a nice way for them to give back and then leave a legacy," says Mary Anne Moore, director of volunteer services at Methodist Mansfield.

Methodist Richardson Medical Center Auxiliary

Methodist Richardson Auxiliary members and volunteers man the bake sale tableThe Methodist Richardson Medical Center Auxiliary is dedicated to service. A volunteer shift may be as diverse as delivering flowers or items from the pharmacy, serving at an information desk, and assisting in the surgery waiting room. Their time also includes hours spent outside the hospital halls, collecting children's books for the emergency department waiting room or sewing cough pillow covers and prayer shawls for patients.

The Auxiliary also raises funds for the hospital, hosting bake sales, jewelry sales, and, during National Nurses Week, a uniform sale. And if you step into Medical Plaza I, you can't miss the aroma of delicious popcorn for sale, the proceeds of which go straight to the hospital. The Auxiliary also recruits and works with Junior Volunteers. These teens learn to serve using their talents – for example, playing the piano in the Methodist Richardson Cancer Center lobby – and how to plan philanthropic events.
