Mini Sivadasan, MD

Mini L. Sivadasan, MD, specializes in minimally invasive cardiac surgery, robotic cardiac and thoracic surgery, and vascular/endovascular surgery. Her expertise in cardiac surgery includes minimally invasive valve surgery, off pump beating heart coronary revascularization, aortic surgery, concomitant valve/coronary surgery. Dr. Sivadasan’s clinical interests include robotic-assisted thoracic surgery, transcatheter aortic/mitral valve surgery, vascular and endovascular aneurysm surgery.

Dr. Sivadasan obtained her medical degree from Ross University School of Medicine and completed her residency in General Surgery at Mount Sinai Health System in New York, and completed her fellowship in Cardiothoracic Surgery at New York University Langone Health System. Dr. Sivadasan demonstrated exceptional dedication and performance during her residency, she was awarded the Outstanding Clinical General Surgery Resident Award, and the Outstanding Surgical Technical Skills and Excellence Award. Following her general surgery residency, Dr. Sivadasan continued to pursue specialized training by completing fellowships in adult cardiac and thoracic surgery, minimally invasive cardiac surgery, and robotic cardiac and thoracic surgery through New York University Langone Health System.

After surgical training, Dr. Sivadasan joined a leading cardiothoracic and vascular surgery group in Chicago, Illinois, CTVSA. Dr. Sivadasan was featured on Chicago’s WGN Channel 9 News for “New Heart Valve Techniques in Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery” in 2011. In 2013, Dr. Sivadasan was recognized by Advocate Health Care for Excellence in Cardiac Surgery. Dr. Sivadasan received the prestigious America’s Top Doctor Award from Southeastern Wisconsin in 2018. Dr. Sivadasan is certified by the American Board of Thoracic Surgery and has been serving as a Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeon since 2010.

In addition to her commitment to serving her patients, Dr. Sivadasan also has a passion for bringing quality medical care to those in need by offering her medical services to charitable hospitals and organizations all over the world including Mexico, Malaysia, and India. She is the founder of a non-profit charitable foundation in India, Healing Hands for Hearts Foundation. When she is not working, Dr. Sivadasan enjoys spending time with her family, fun activities with her daughter Lakshmi, and traveling.
