Rapid CT Scanner

Rapid Computed Tomography (CT) Scan

What is a rapid CT scan?

A rapid computed tomography (CT) scanner completes a full-body scan of internal organs, structures, and tissues in 37 seconds. It’s used in the emergency department instead of a traditional CT, which would take 90 minutes to capture the same images.

Who needs rapid CT scan?

A rapid CT scan is used to look for damage to internal organs in a person with severe physical injuries. The scan can help trauma teams find life-threatening organ damage quickly enough to offer effective treatment.

Rapid CT scan is done by the order of a physician.
