Ultrasound

What is it?

Ultrasound imaging, also called ultrasound scanning or sonography, uses sound waves to create images of tissues and organs inside the body. The test can provide information on the structure and function of organs and is frequently used to check on the embryo or fetus during pregnancy.

Who needs it?

Ultrasound may be recommended to diagnose problems with the heart, liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, kidneys, bladder or other organs. It is routinely used during pregnancy.

You may schedule an ultrasound by the order of a physician.
