Former Dallas Cowboy Bradie James continues his partnership with Methodist Health System donating funding for mammograms & screenings
On Wednesday, Bradie James Foundation 56 is presenting a check to the Methodist Health System Foundation for $29,300 to fund the Breast Cancer Screening Outreach Program. The money will be used for screening and diagnostic breast services for underserved women in Dallas County. The Methodist Mobile Mammography unit will provide screening mammograms at community locations where many of those women live.
The Methodist Dallas breast program addresses the entire continuum of care cycle, from screening to diagnosis and follow-up. This funding will provide for 100 screening mammogram and 40 diagnostic services.
In existence on the Methodist Dallas campus, the Bradie James Breast Cancer Resource Center currently provides breast cancer screening, education, and detection, as well as one-on-one consultation services and other resources to help breast cancer patients get back in the game. Additional services include: wig fitting, scarves and hats, access to an American Cancer Society (ACS) volunteer, books on coping with breast cancer, computer and Internet access for online educational information, and the ACS’ Look Good … Feel Better program that teaches beauty techniques to cancer patients to help them manage the appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment.
