Methodist Mansfield expands with new Patient Care Tower

Methodist Mansfield staff continuously strive for the highest quality care, and we as a hospital constantly look for ways to enhance our service. In the four years I have served as President of Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, we have been voted Best Medical Facility, Best Maternity Ward, and Best Emergency Department in our surrounding communities. This has been a wonderful Medical Center to manage, and an even more wonderful community to serve. We have already expanded on the medical services we offer and opened a Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center. Now, in true Methodist Mansfield fashion, we are continuing this push for excellence in care and services. I am pleased to announce that the time has finally come to open our new Patient Tower Two.

Since Methodist Mansfield first opened its doors in 2006, Mansfield alone has grown in population by around 59%. In those nine years, our hospital has also grown to achieve exceptional safety scores, outperformed other hospitals on Key Quality Measures to provide the best patient care, and become the preferred medical center in the area. Noticing the growth of our community, we decided it was time to expand our services and patient rooms in order to continue to provide the best in quality care for you.

That population was the key focus in planning our new $118 million patient care tower. It will provide our community with 208,000 square feet of medical care. With 86 additional beds, we are also prepared to grow once more by having the capacity to add 32 down the road. That would bring the total number of patient beds to 286. We have added additional support services, including a laboratory, pharmacy, central sterile processing, information technology, and food services. The expansion even allows for faster emergency department services.

There are more surgical suites to compliment the growth in patient rooms, four additional gastroenterology suites, and expanded outpatient intensive care and critical care units. We have the ability to expand women's services as the community continues to grow, on top of opening an official inpatient unit dedicated to stroke care.

We are opening an entirely new Heart & Vascular Center in the Patient Tower, allowing our cardiopulmonary unit to advance its services with an increase in inpatient capacity, while expanding the outpatient unit. We even enhanced the cardiology support, including electrophysiology and cardiac rehabilitation.

This expansion will allow Methodist Mansfield to grow alongside our surrounding communities, providing state-of-the-art technologies and the best quality patient care for decades to come. I am excited to continue serving our community in this way, gifting every one of you with additional services and advanced quality care. We'll see you at the new Tower.
