Methodist Mansfield opens new patient care tower and Amon G. Carter Foundation Heart and Vascular Center
Methodist Mansfield Medical Center will open the Amon G. Carter Foundation Heart and Vascular Center and celebrate a new 208,000-square foot, 118-bed tower and expansion. The $118 million patient care tower is located at the northwest portion of the 23 acre health care complex and will open with 86 additional patient rooms. The expansion features advanced cardiac care including catheterization and electrophysiology. Some of the procedures offered will be cardiac ablations, loop recorders, implantable cardiac defibrillators, and single or dual chamber pacemakers. Additionally, new operating rooms are larger with a focus on minimally invasive surgery using the robotic da Vinci® Surgical System. We now offer 3D mammography plus comprehensive digital imaging technologies, four new gastroenterology suites, and 64,000 square feet of support services. The new tower will eventually employ up to 200 medical professionals.
When Methodist Mansfield opened in 2006, the 88-bed community hospital was Methodist Health System’s first health care facility in Tarrant County. Today, Methodist Mansfield has grown to a 254-bed hospital, offering some of the latest in medical technology and innovative treatments through a variety of specialties, including award-winning cardiology services and robot-assisted surgery serving more than 98,000 patients in Tarrant, Johnson and Ellis counties.
Built with the patient’s comfort in mind, the new tower includes:
- Larger halls and doorways
- Public sinks with soap and hand sanitizer dispensers along the corridors.
- Complimentary coffee bars on each floor and charging stations for mobile devices in every room.
- Heated massage chairs and curb-free showers with shower wands, grab bars and shower benches, pillow speakers, and in-room safe to secure valuables.
- Private physician consulting rooms on each floor, with monitors that allow clinicians to display patient images such as X-rays and MRI scans.
- Direct nurse call system allows patients to locate and call their assigned nurse, and physician boards to facilitate plan of care and answer questions from family members.
- J. Randall Canedy Family Community Room
- 40” high-definition flat-screen TVs with dozens of channels, movies and on-demand patient education.
- Remote-control handsets allow for independently operated speakers and volume controls for the patient and family.
- Touch-screen pad for adjusting bed position and electronically controlled miniblinds.
- State of the art centralized heart monitoring room that remotely monitors up to 144 patient hearts.
