The Annual DFW Liver and Gut Club is Here!
“Hepatitis C in 2016: Playing With a Full Deck of Cards?”
Methodist Health System is pleased to announce their upcoming continuing education symposium: the 2016 DFW Liver and Gut Club! This annual event provides area physicians and extenders an opportunity to join together to review the current state of Hepatitis C and liver disease as well as to analyze new advancements in treatment of the conditions. On May 26th, this year’s seminar, “Hepatitis C in 2016: Playing With a Full Deck of Cards?,” promises to be an exciting and informative one, featuring guest speaker Ira Jacobson, M.D., Chair of the Department of Medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel in New York City.
Through this experience, Dr. Jacobson’s goal is to increase overall physician understanding of Hepatitis C while focusing on the most effective treatments for patients in special populations and at various stages of the disease. The DFW Liver and Gut Club will also place a high emphasis on increasing awareness of Hepatitis C’s curability. In addition to accepted therapies, this symposium will also review the future of Hepatitis C throughout the world and medications that are currently under research. Dr. Jacobson plans to summarize this wealth of information with an overview of the changing landscape of Hepatitis C and the new January 2016 AASLD guidelines.
With the number of advancements in the study of liver disease and Hepatitis C, the DFW Liver and Gut Club is a can’t-miss educational event! For 2016, III Forks Restaurant will again be hosting this prestigious group. Please RSVP to Miya L. McClary at 214-947-4420 by May 20th. Due to the nature of the information presented, registration is limited to physicians and physician extenders only.
