Falling for Pink at Methodist Charlton

We know it's scary, the statistics don't lie. Breastcancer.org estimates about 1 in 8 U.S. women (about 12%) will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of her lifetime. In 2016, the non-profit organization estimates there will be 246,660 new cases of invasive breast cancer diagnosed in women in the U.S.; 2,600 cases in men. The good news is, there's a lot of expertise, research, and treatment if you do receive that diagnosis.

It's one reason pink has become the new color of fall! You've seen football players wear pink cleats, referees with pink towels, even fans donning pink camouflage uniforms. It's prevalent because it's important and October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

At Methodist Charlton Medical Center, we are Falling for Pink at a fun and informative breast health event for men and women. Methodist Charlton recently received recognition from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC), and the breast center offers comprehensive treatment options and support every step of the way. At Falling for Pink, you can learn all about male and female breast health. There will be onsite mammograms, bra fittings, a "Just for Men" private session led by male breast cancer survivors, a cooking demonstration by Naked Chef Jacques Laventure, food and drinks, and well-known pastor and cancer survivor Dr. Sheron Patterson leading the day's events!

Join us Saturday, September 10 in the Methodist Charlton Auditorium. Mammograms begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 9:45. The program will run from 10 a.m. to noon and will conclude with a free bra fitting. To reserve a time for a mammogram or bra-fitting, please call 214-947-5490.
