Summer health tips from a loveable source
Another reason to follow Methodist Mansfield on Twitter this summer
It is the official broken record of summer: Reapply sunscreen every few hours, drink lots of water, wear sunglasses and a bike helmet when riding.
These are all important summer safety tips, but sometimes it's hard to make people - especially kiddos - listen when they are focused on having a fun, carefree summer. But, maybe they'll listen to Max. Max has years of experience trying to improve people's health and better lives. Max has volunteered with the American Red Cross, helped children learn to read, even worked with cancer patients and children with special needs. His newest hobby is visiting with patients, their families and the staff at Methodist Mansfield Medical Center.
By the way - Max is a dog.
Max is a well-known canine in Tarrant County. Soon, he might have a broader audience. Max will be featured giving out summer health and safety tips on Methodist Mansfield Medical Center's Twitter feed. The hope is that his adorable face will catch people's eyes on social media, encouraging them to pay attention to the advice of physicians from Methodist Mansfield.
Max isn't a genetic pedigree (his ancestry is Chow Chow, Chihuahua, German Shepherd, Great Dane, bull terrier and poodle,) but his academic pedigree is impressive.
Max is a registered Pet Therapy dog, a Canine Good Citizen, a R.E.A.D (Reading Education Assistance Dog) program dog, AKC therapy dog and an American Red Cross therapy dog. Max visits nursing homes, rehabilitation centers, assisted living and retirement homes, as well as Methodist Mansfield. Each of these programs required extensive training at school. Max loves visiting patients and their families at Methodist Mansfield...almost as much as he enjoys walking off-leash at the golf course and eating beef and duck jerky.
