Methodist Mansfield Medical center opens black and blue sports injury clinic

Mansfield - Accidents happen on the field, on the track, on the court, and elsewhere, so Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is adding a specialty Black and Blue Sports Injury Clinic at the new Methodist Urgent Care – Mansfield located at 1718 US 287 Frontage Road #200. Our doctors understand many injuries don’t warrant a trip to the emergency department, so this new clinic is open Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon and offers free sports injury evaluations. No appointment is necessary and walk-ins are welcome. The goal of the clinic is to offer free athletic injury assessment for sports advocates at any age.
“We are thrilled to offer this new clinic to patients in need of sports medicine,” says Methodist Mansfield President John Phillips, FACHE. “Both Jeff McDaniel, MD, and Avery Nolen, MD, have a wealth of knowledge and experience, and they are assets to our medical staff and sports medicine program.”
“Sports injuries are unfortunately on the rise during the football season, so the quicker we can see and treat athletes, the better the outcome is for the patient,” says Dr. McDaniel. “I support Grand Prairie, Mansfield and Midlothian ISD as the team physician and consultant for concussions and injuries and I look forward to serving the patients and am excited to lead this new clinic on Saturdays.”
