The talents, compassion, and dedication of these individuals form the foundation of pastoral care at Methodist Health System.
Rev. Caesar Rentie –
Vice President of Pastoral Care, Methodist Health System
Rev. Rentie received a Master of Theological Studies from Brite Divinity
School at Texas Christian University in 1997 and currently serves as a
local pastor for the North Texas Conference of the United Methodist Church.
He has a Bachelor of Arts in Interpersonal Communications from Oklahoma
University. While at OU, Caesar played football for the Oklahoma Sooners.
During that time, the Sooners won four Big Eight Conference titles, one
national championship title and made four Orange Bowl appearances. Caesar
was drafted into the NFL by the Chicago Bears in the 7th round and played
offensive tackle under head coach Mike Ditka. In 1991 he was the 1st round
draft pick for the New York New Jersey Knights in the World League of
American Football. After his football career, Caesar accepted his call
into ministry.
Rev. Dr. Elias Lopez –
Director of Pastoral Services, Methodist Health System
Rev. Lopez attended Southern Methodist University and is a graduate of
Perkins School of Theology with a Master of Divinity degree. He also completed
his doctoral work at Perkins receiving his Doctor of Ministry. Rev. Lopez
completed his Clinical Pastoral Education residency at Children’s
Medical Center. He is an Ordained Minister in the Church of God (Cleveland,
TN), a Pentecostal denomination, and serves as lead pastor for Iglesia
de Dios Filadelfia in Grand Prairie. Elias serves as the Director for
his denomination’s district Christian education program.
Rev. Willacin Precious Gholston –
ACPE Educator,
Manager of
CPE Programs, Methodist Health System,
Manager Pastoral Services, Methodist Charlton Medical Center
Rev. Precious Gholston is an ordained elder in the African Methodist Episcopal
(AME) Church. An avid scholar, Rev. Gholston graduated with highest honors
from Bennett College for Women in Greensboro, North Carolina. She later
obtained her Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan and
a Master of Divinity from Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist
University. Rev. Gholston was certified by the Association of Clinical
Pastoral Education (ACPE) as a CPE Supervisor in the fall of 2014. She
completed her CPE training at Methodist Health System in Dallas, Texas.
Prior to her Chaplaincy career, Rev. Gholston served in global missions
as Executive Director of an AIDS Center in Lobatse, Botswana (Southern
Africa), an agency of the AME Church.
Rev. Beatriz Pacheco -
ACPE Educator, Manager Pastoral Services, Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Rev. Beatriz Pacheco is an ordained Elder in the United Methodist Church
and a member of the North Texas Conference. Rev. Pacheco is a graduate
of Seminario Biblico Latino americano in San Jose, Costa Rica, with a
Bachelors of Theology and Perkins School of Theology with a Master of
Divinity. Beatriz completed her CPE training at Methodist Health System
in Dallas, Texas. She is certified by the Association of Clinical Pastoral
Education (ACPE) as Associate Supervisor.
Jae-Hee Lee - Certified Educator Candidate, Manager Pastoral Services, Methodist Mansfield
Medical Center
Jae-Hee originally came from South Korea and is an ordained elder in the
Korean Methodist Church. Jae-Hee graduated from Methodist Theological
University in Seoul, Korea majored in Christian Education and the graduate
school of the university with Master of Divinity. Jae-Hee continued her
academic journey at Perkins School of Theology obtained Master of Theological
Studies and at Brite Divinity School completed course works in the News
Testament Studies of Ph.D program (ABD). Jae-Hee completed nine units
of CPE at Methodist Health System and served as a staff chaplain for twelve
years at Methodist Dallas and Methodist Charlton. Jae-Hee transitioned
to CEC program in May 2017 and currently in the stage of Phase IB. Jae-Hee
is also an associate pastor at Sae Sarm Korean Methodist church and an
adjunct faculty at the Dallas campus of Central Baptist Seminary.
Donny Marandure-
Manager Pastoral Services, Methodist Richardson Medical Center
Chaplain Marandure completed his CPE Residency at Methodist Health System.
He is a graduate of Andrews University, a Seventh Day Adventist University.
He attends Mosaic Christian Fellowship where he is an associate pastor
and involved in the music ministry. Chaplain Marandure is originally from Zimbabwe.
Carlos Lopez -
Staff Chaplain, Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Carlos has a M.A. in Christian Ministry from Abilene Christian University.
He studied Clinical Pastoral Education at Methodist Health System where
he completed his first and second year residency. Carlos has worked as
a Church Planter for more than 15 years and is a former Faith Community
Health Chaplain for Baylor Scott and White Health System and Parkland
Health and Hospital System in West Dallas.
Rev. David Impwi –
Staff Chaplain, Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Rev. Impwi is an ordained Methodist minister. He is a graduate of and currently
a Doctor of Ministry Candidate at Perkins School of Theology, Southern
Methodist University. Rev. Impwi serves as staff chaplain at Methodist
Charlton Medical Center.
Rev. Robert Danage –
Staff Chaplain, Methodist Charlton Medical Center
Rev. Danage is a licensed and ordained minister with the National Baptist
Convention, U.S.A. Inc. He is a graduate of Oral Roberts University M.Div.
He has completed (6) Units of Clinical Pastoral
Rev. Stephanie Drew –
Staff Chaplain, Methodist Charlton Medical Center
Rev. Drew received her Bachelor of Science from Jarvis Christian College
and earned her Masters of Art
majoring in Christian Counseling from Oral Roberts University. Rev. Drew
is an ordained Elder in the Christian Methodist Episcopal Church and serves
as the Associate Pastor of the Kirkwood Temple CME Church.
Thelma Osei -
Staff Chaplain,Methodist Mansfield Medical Center
Chaplain Osei completed eight units of CPE, five at Methodist Health System.
Thelma graduated from Southwestern Assemblies of God University and is
licensed through the Assemblies of God.
Rev. Dr. Andrew “Drew” Dowden – Staff Chaplain, Golden Cross Academic Clinic
Drew has a Master of Arts in Christian Education and a Doctor of Philosophy
degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
He has completed a first and second-year residency with Methodist Health
System. Drew’s has also previously served as a missionary in Japan
with the Southern Baptist Convention.
Debbie Seider, RN, MSN,
Faith Community Nursing Coordinator, Methodist Health System, based in
Methodist Richardson Medical Center
Debbie is a registered nurse with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and
Master of Science in Nursing from Baylor University. She began her career
in the clinical areas of nephrology and transplant nursing. In 1999 Debbie
joined the Pastoral Care Department as a Faith Community Nursing Coordinator
while also completing an Extended Unit of ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education.
She is a member and an ordained deacon of First Baptist Church, Richardson, TX.
Doris Giles, MS, RN – Faith Community Nursing Coordinator, Methodist Health System,
based in
Methodist Charlton Medical Center
Doris earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from El Centro College and
her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science with a major in Nursing
Education from Texas Woman’s University. She also received certificates
of successful completion of the following educational programs in preparation
for the role of Coordinator: Basic Preparation Course for Parish Nurses
(2001), Basic Preparation for Parish Nurse Coordinators (2001), Extended
Unit of ACPE Clinical Pastoral Education (2002), and Parish Nurse Educator
Training (2004). She serves as an Educational Partner to the International
Parish Nurse Resource Center to teach the Foundations of Faith Community
Nursing Course locally. Doris joined the Pastoral Care Department in 2000.
She is an active member of Pleasant Zion Missionary Baptist Church in
Dallas, TX.
Sister Maria I. Gomez –
Chaplain, Methodist Health System
Sister Maria I. Gomez, SSND, is a Catholic chaplain employed by the Catholic
Diocese of Dallas. She completed her chaplain residency at Methodist Dallas
and currently serves the Catholic patients at MDMC and part-time at Methodist
Charlton Medical Center. Among her duties Sr. Maria provides communion
to the patients and oversees the volunteer Eucharistic Ministers who visit
the Catholic patients at MDMC.
Patricia Johnson – Executive Assistant, Pastoral Care Department, Methodist Dallas Medical Center
Elaine Cannon– MHS Clinical Education Coordinator, and Adm. Assistant Department of Pastoral
Services at Methodist Charlton
Elaine joined the Department in July 2009. She received her Bachelor of
Science in Office Systems Management and an Associate in Technology from
Southern University and is an active member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church.
