Methodist Charlton Inpatient Hospice Unit
In fall 2012, Odyssey Hospice opened and began independently operating the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Methodist Charlton to offer families support and care for loved ones who are nearing the end of life.
Hospice care is a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care focused on maintaining dignity, increasing quality of life, and providing comfort, including pain and symptom management.
Hospice care is for patients with a variety of diagnoses, including:
- Heart disease
- Stroke
- Liver disease
- Alzheimer's disease
- Cancer
Texas law prohibits hospitals from practicing medicine. The physicians
on the Methodist Health System medical staff are independent practitioners
who are not employees or agents of
Methodist Health System, or any of its affiliated hospitals.
