Labor/Delivery/Recovery Suite

Methodist Charlton was one of the first hospitals in Dallas to champion the "LDR" concept of labor, delivery, and recovery in the same, large, comfortable suite. Numerous amenities and ample space in these private suites at Methodist Charlton allow family members to be present and share the experience of birth.

Level II Special Care NurseryLevel II Special Care Nursery

Methodist Charlton's Level II Special Care Nursery provides care for newborns who require more intensive nursing care. Methodist Dallas Medical Center's Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – which serves as a referral center for more than 30 hospitals in North and East Texas – also stands ready to care for babies born with complex medical conditions.

Postpartum UnitPostpartum Unit

After baby has arrived, and both mother and newborn are stable and comfortable, the family moves to the postpartum unit on West Tower 2 at Methodist Charlton. Here, experienced postpartum nurses help teach new mothers about caring for a newborn, caring for themselves in the postpartum period, breastfeeding, and what to expect in the first few days – and nights – at home.

Private "Room In" Patient RoomPrivate "Room In" Patient Room

Methodist Charlton's postpartum unit features all-private rooms, and babies typically "room in" with moms. The Special Care Nursery is also located on this unit. Methodist Charlton offers a high level of security to protect mothers and infants. A specialized infant security system, special employee ID badges, locked nurseries, and patient education contribute to the safety of infants and mothers.
