Who is Methodist Health System?
Methodist Health System includes Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Methodist Charlton Medical Center, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, Methodist Richardson Medical Center, and the Methodist Family Health Centers. We are a nonprofit organization affiliated by covenant with the North Texas Conference of The United Methodist Church.

Can I refer to the organization as Methodist Hospitals of Dallas, Methodist Medical Center, Methodist Central, or Charlton Methodist Hospital?

No. Although the legal name of our organization is Methodist Hospitals of Dallas, the name under which we conduct business is Methodist Health System. The proper names for the hospitals in the system are Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Methodist Charlton Medical Center, Methodist Mansfield Medical Center, and Methodist Richardson Medical Center.

Where can the media park?
Upon notifying the Methodist public relations department, reporters or camera crews can park at Methodist Dallas in the circle drive by the fountain at the front entrance off Beckley. Live-broadcast trucks can park in the vacant lot across the street from the main entrance at Beckley or in the driveway near the emergency room. Please be sure not to block access for emergency vehicles.

After getting permission as described above, reporters or camera crews can park at Methodist Charlton in the circular driveway by the fountain at the front entrance off Wheatland Road.

You must get permission from Methodist police or the public relations department to park or have cameras at any Methodist location.

Can I collect images or information in Methodist facilities?
Media photographers and reporters must have hospital permission before entering any Methodist facility and taking any photos, and must be escorted by a member of our public relations department or the Methodist police.

For the safety and care of our patients, no photography is permitted in any critical care unit or room (ICU, CCU, Neurocritical Care)

JCAHO is the acronym for the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the nation’s predominant standards-setting agency in healthcare. JCAHO evaluates and accredits more than 16,000 health care organizations and programs in the United States. Methodist Health System, Methodist Dallas Medical Center, Methodist Charlton Medical Center, and Methodist Mansfield Medical Center are accredited by JCAHO and have earned the JCAHO Gold Seal of Approval™.
