Weight Loss Surgery Support Group

Educating, Motivating and Celebrating Weight-Loss Surgery Patients

A strong support group is an integral part of a successful weight loss experience. Regular meetings provide education support, counsel, friendship and reinforcement and ultimately help patients achieve success faster than they could alone. We also encourage our patients to develop lifelong relationships beyond support group meetings, and to contact each other whenever needed.

The support group is for bariatric patients who are on their journey to have surgery or those who have had a bariatric surgery.

Quality support groups provide more than just social and emotional support. They provide a wonderful opportunity for learning. Some groups provide a more structured agenda, featuring scheduled topic presentations and discussions.

Our group often invite guest speakers. Some are bariatric professionals like dietitians, psychologists, fitness instructors and bariatric surgeons. Other guests provide presentations on topics like addiction, grooming, dating and cooking. All are designed to educate, inform and provide a well-rounded foundation of knowledge for long-term success.

We have covered many topics on nutrition, exercise, mind body and medical topics.

Some of the topics we have covered:

  • Looking Back to Move Forward
  • Cooking with The “C” Spot
  • Addiction Awareness
  • Getting into Exercise and Activity
  • Proteins and Vitamins from our Bariatric Reps
  • Wellness and How to Deal with Stress
  • Heart health

We meet the third Tuesday of every month from 6pm to 7:30pm. It is a zoom meeting until further notice.
