Methodist Dallas Medical Center is known throughout North Texas for its advanced diagnostic technology and expertise for diagnosing and treating digestive diseases and disorders.

At Methodist Dallas Medical Center, our team of gastroenterologists and interventional endoscopists are recognized leaders in performing routine and advanced procedures to diagnose and treat a wide variety of digestive conditions, including the following:

Conditions We Treat

In addition to offering cutting-edge technology and extraordinary expertise, our medical staff leadership is committed to education through its gastroenterology fellowship training program.

Centers of Excellence

With high patient satisfaction scores, Methodist Dallas offers the warmth of a community hospital, but at the same time maintains the technology and expertise expected of a tertiary teaching center. For this reason we have become a destination for patients from across North Texas and surrounding states who need advanced digestive care. The following Centers of Excellence attest to our dedication to technology, education, and research for the advancement of quality patient care.

Interventional Endoscopy Center

For the treatment of gastroesophageal, hepatic and pancreaticobiliary disorders, Methodist Dallas has invested in creating an Interventional Endoscopy Center of Excellence with capabilities rivalling any major regional medical facility. Additionally, these services will soon (date?) be housed in an expanded and modernized facility at Methodist Dallas. Among the unique capabilities found in our Endoscopy Center are transoral incisionless fundoplication (TIF) for treatment of acid reflux disease; cryoablation for treatment of Barrett’s esophagus, and peroral endoscopic myotomy (POEM) treatment for achalasia, as well as comprehensive resources for therapeutic endoscopic ultrasound.

Esophageal and Stomach Disorders

Highly experienced endoscopists using state-of-the-art technology evaluate and treat disorders of the upper gastrointestinal tract, such as achalasia and swallowing/motility disorders, Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal cancer, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), gastroparesis, gastric varices, and gastric cancer.

Liver Disorders

The treatment of liver disease has been the focus of The Liver Institute since 2003.

Pancreatic Disorders

Methodist Dallas Medical Center has achieved regional and national acclaim for treatment of pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer. Methodist Dallas was the first in the nation to receive Gold Seal certification for pancreatitis treatment, and pancreatic surgery, and the first in the state of Texas for pancreatic cancer treatment from the Joint Commission.

ASGE Quality SealScreening & Prevention (Colonoscopy)

Colorectal cancer is the nation’s second leading cause of cancer-related death, but it doesn’t have to be. With appropriate screening, colorectal cancer can be prevented. Screening for colorectal cancer is recommended to begin at age 50 (45 for African American males), or earlier if you have a family history of colorectal cancer. Talk to your doctor about the various screening options. Methodist is participating in a national challenge to achieve 80% of eligible adults screened by 2020.
