Screening mammograms are one of the best tools used in the early detection of breast cancer. To help make these essential tests convenient for the women in the communities we serve, Methodist Health System takes its technologists and imaging equipment on the road.
Now equipped with 3D mammography, Methodist Health System mobile mammography unit brings advanced breast cancer screening technology along with a friendly, all-female technologist staff to:
- Community centers
- Clinics
- Businesses
- Churches
- Schools
- Other North Texas locations
The equipment, staff, and service are the same as if you visited an imaging center.
Methodist Health System Mobile Mammography unit is operated by Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Best quality breast cancer screening is verified though routine annual inspections by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) program and triannual accreditation by the American College of Radiology (ACR). Methodist Health System’s mobile mammography program is included in Methodist Dallas Medical Center’s designation as Breast Imaging Center of Excellence through ACR. It also serves as a key component in screening and detection in our accreditation by the National Accreditation Programs for Breast Centers.

To place a reservation for the Methodist Mobile Mammography Unit to visit your location, call 214-947-1766.
Requirements:
- A minimum number of 15 appointments must be scheduled at least two (2) weeks prior to the reservations date. Up to 25 mammograms can be performed on one day.
- Nine to ten parking spaces and an overhead clearance of 16 feet is required for parking.
- Staff will require access to a restroom.
- Most major insurances accepted. Cash, check or credit card payments is also accepted for those who are able to pay out-of-pocket at the time of the appointment.
- Mammograms are available at no cost for uninsured Dallas county residents. Proof of residency is required at the time of the appointment.
- Spanish speaking staff is available.
- Parking on a city street may require a parking permit. Our staff is available to assist in obtaining the parking permit. We must be notified 6 weeks in advance of the scheduled event if a parking permit is required.
Safety During Covid
The following actions are being taken to protect mobile mammography patients from COVID:
- Staff is screened for COVID on a daily basis prior to beginning work shifts.
- A face mask is required to be worn at all times while on the mobile mammography unit.
- Appointments are scheduled at least 30 minutes apart to allow additional time for cleaning and sanitation between appointments.
- Patients will have their temperature taken upon arrival. Those with elevated temperatures will be asked to reschedule their appointments.
- Hand sanitizer will be available for use while on the mobile mammography unit.
