Level III Neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Methodist Dallas Medical Center
The 50-bed Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Methodist Dallas
delivers care around the clock to premature and low birth-weight infants
born at our hospital and infants referred to us from hospitals throughout
the North and East Texas region.
Infants and families are cared for by a multidisciplinary team including:
- Neonatal intensive care nurses
- Neonatal respiratory therapists
- Educators
- Discharge planners
- Neonatologists
- Lactation consultants

The Methodist Dallas NICU was established in 1978, the second facility of its kind in Dallas. In 2004, the NICU underwent a $2.7 million construction and renovation project. The Methodist Dallas neonatal transport program was the first of its kind in the Dallas area when it was established in 1980.
